You only THINK you've heard cool. From the first rasp, to the last clear tone Carolina Story's new CD "Home" is perfect in it's imperfection. A Howard Finster painting just came unhinged and turned into a whirly-gig of haunted souls. A gaunt, beautiful spirit is dancing in the room. Drums, guitars, harmonicas, kazoos, pedal steel are playing, but I'm not sure where. My focus is completely on the voices that are so present, I'm in the same pop-up book with them. And the words! The words! So mournful and hopeful you want to cry. Put this dusty rock in your pocket. It's a diamond.
